MAC Printing Issues

MAC Printing Issues

The most common printing issue may appear as an inability to print the last page. This is due to having the wrong margins set for your global printing settings. The correct settings should be 1/2" left margin and 1/2" right margin on all pages. As well, you should check to see that your top and bottom margins are 1/2". This will quite often fix the printing issue.

Software Manual Format

The manual to the software I understand, explains the numbers and
offers realistic formulas to enter. Is the manual a hardcopy?

The FilmProfit Guide to Film Distribution Deals is delivered in pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format.

The Manual for the utilization of the software is also delivered in pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format as well as being available on our website at:

http://filmprofit.com/demos/FilmProfit_DOS_Manual.pdf

License Agreement for Software

I am at work. If I purchase Film Profit from here and download it will I be able to copy it to a floppy to download to my home computer?

You do not want to leave the email or download the software onto your work computer. You want to download it to a floppy or CD immediately and take that floppy or CD home and delete the EMail from your work computer. Doing otherwise would jeopardize your Software License Agreement. You are only allowed to have the software installed on one computer at a time.

Printout Look and Feel

Does the final print out look like the sample for the custom projections? Or will I have to create that layout myself?

The Custom Projections are a proprietary format for projections which we do for you.

The FilmProfit Software printout looks like this:

FilmProfit File into Word or other Word Processor

The folllowing is from the manual for the PC software. :

To configure FilmProfit to your printer, from any screen, press CTRL-F2. This will bring up the printer menu.

To select your printer, press the first letter of your printer name, or move the cursor to highlight the printer name and press ENTER.

FilmProfit supports two printer types, and offers alternate choice of printing your reports to a File.

The printer configuration choices are:

Epson FX
HP Laserjet
File
No Definition

If you wish to Print your report to a FILE on Disk. If you have chosen your printer as File, when you press the F5 print key, it will bring up a dialogue box which says:

Enter Print File Name FP.RPT

You can give the file any name you wish, or use the program's default, which is FP.RPT. If you wish your report file to have a different name, begin typing it, and the dialogue box will expand to show a new line with the name you have entered. If you wish to direct the file to a certain Folder, you will need to enter that Folder name, but remember that DOS does not accept long file names, and uses Wild Card designations. If you are uncertain, you should accept the default Folder name.

When this destination name is shown, you can edit any portion of the name or destination using your cursor keys. FilmProfit will automatically add the RPT extension to your file name. DO NOT ADD ANOTHER EXTENSION NAME OR CHANGE THE EXTENSION DESIGNATION TO YOUR REPORT FILE.

Your report will be written and saved in ASCII format. You can then bring that written file up in your word processor and edit it to your specifications.

In Word, go to FILE/OPEN, navigate to the FP Directory (or directory where you saved the .rpt file) and open the file with Word.

If you wish to manipulate the file, please remember that there are set tabs, both left aligned and right aligned, which keep the information in proper columns. Once you begin to change that, you may spend quite some time changing a lot of it.

Also, you will need to set the margins of your Word file in FILE/PAGE SETUP to 1" at the TOP and BOTTOM of your page, and 0.5" at the LEFT and RIGHT sides.
